Things to do in June in the Lake District

As we look at things to do in June in the Lake District, get ready to make the most of your spa package break in the Lake District. When it comes to the 21st June the evenings stay lighter for longer. There’s a warmth to the air and the chance to embrace the Lakes before the heat of summer kicks in.

Guided Walks in the Lake District

We will always encourage our guests to enjoy the fresh air. Walking across the fells and along the waterside is a must throughout the year. However, in June, you can also book a selection of guided walks. Local routes to the Windermere Tranquil Retreat include over Latterbarrow to Wray Castle, passing close to our spa suites along the way.

Ride the Hawkshead Trail

If you’re planning on bringing a bike with you or hiring one during your break in the Lake District then ride the Hawkshead Trail. Although there are of course plenty more routes to choose from, on the 16th June there’s a guided ride taking place. The journey is a 10-mile trip, starting on the shores of Brockhole on Windermere.

Evening Cruise on Lake Windermere

Just a short way from your spa suite in Windermere, are the famous Lake Cruises. As the evenings start getting longer, a trip along the water at night time is something truly special. During your 2.5 cruise, you will be treated to an onboard buffet and entertained by a selection of live music.

Although it’s highly recommended to book tickets in advance. So, when you book your spa package break in the Lake District, book a cruise at the same time!

Country Fest and the Cumberland Show

There’s not one, but two traditional country shows to choose from in the Lake District in June. The first, Country Fest, takes place at the beginning of the month across 1st and 2nd June. Mid-month features one of the biggest shows in the country, with the long-standing Cumberland County Show.

If you’ve not been to a country show before, then both are set to celebrate Cumbria’s agricultural and local heritage.

Summer Fete at Askham Hall

Askham Hall in Penrith welcomes one and all to their summer fete on the 16th June. Which just so happens to be Father’s Day. As such, giving visitors the chance for a fun family day out. The event runs throughout the day and only cost £3 on the way in. You will then be treated to a day filled with traditional summer games, arts and crafts stalls, food, drink and live music.
