The weather may still be mild, but the chances are the weather reports are a bit more reliable. Well, as much as the British weather system can be! While there’s always still a chance of rain, the fresh morning dew makes a country walk all the more magical.

With spring in the air and birds tweeting up in the trees, daffodils and bluebells make for a beautiful site across the fells. As do the newborn Herdwick Lambs, bounding lovingly from field to field. The four seasons in the Lake District always bring something special, and April in the Lake District is certainly no different.

It’s also when fresh produce starts to appear at farmers markets, along with some of the popular annual events. Then, of course, there’s Easter in the Lake District, which this year Good Friday falls on 19th April, with Easter Monday the 22nd April. As such, a spring break in Windermere is also the perfect destination for a bank holiday weekend away.

Although Easter in the Lake District may focus on activities for children, that doesn’t mean there’s nothing for the adults.
