Lake District Summer Music Festival
If you enjoy a bit of light classical and chamber music, there’s a host of concerts taking place during the first week of the month. This year there’s a particular celebration on the life and works of both Sir William Walton and German composer Johannes Brahms.
Bowness Bay Blues Weekend 2021
The return of live music also means the annual blues festival in Bowness on Windermere. Including incredible performances from the likes of Lee Ainsleys Blues Storm and the Sean Webster Band. All within close proximity of the Windermere Tranquil Retreat and our hot tub spa suites. The festival takes place from the 13th to 15th August.
Hawkshead Show 2021
With many country fairs having already cancelled altogether for 2021, we’re pleased to advise the Hawkshead Show is going ahead as planned. However, please note this August sees a more moderate affair than previous occasions. In which the event will be open only to its horticultural exhibitions and competitions. Albeit alongside a handful of additional stalls and arena performances if safe to do so.
The Ennerdale Show
The following day on the 25th August 2021 is another yearly event. The Ennerdale Show has proved popular with locals and tourists alike for many years. Showcasing everything from local farm skills to fell-racing and traditional Westmorland Wrestling.
Solfest – Music and Arts Festival
While we’re sad to see the cancellation of Kendal Calling, Solfest is in line to fill the gap. After all, the bank holiday includes a line-up featuring the likes of indie favourites Razorlight, Feeder and Maximo Park. As well as DJ sets from Basement Jaxx and Ian Mac.
Windermere One Way 2021
If you’re wishing to become one with your surroundings, the Windermere One Way is a chance to partake in some wild swimming. 11 miles spent out in the water is an exciting challenge for any dedicated athlete.
