Lakes Alive – 6th to 8th September

You’ll be in for a diverse array of entertainment at this year’s Lakes Alive in Cumbria. Largely taking place in and around Kendal and Ambleside. Featuring everything from futuristic art installations and classical music, to poetry and theatre performances.

Holker Chili Fest – 7th to 8th September

If you think the Lakes District weather has started to heat up, then how about the added burn of chilli at this yeas Holker Chili Fest. The 2 day festival includes all there is to know about the nations favourite peppers. It’s a great way to purchase some unique products, as well as cookery demonstrations, eating competitions and of course, food stands.

Westmorland County Show – 12th September

It’s one of the last county shows in Cumbria of the season and like many of its counterparts, one that’s been long-standing. It’s previously won Tourism Event of the Year in the Cumbria Tourism Awards, and is easy to see why. So if you want to experience a piece of traditional Cumbrian life then book a ticket online. You’ll get one of the calendars most prestigious livestock shows, along with plenty of arts, crafts and local produce.

Epic Lakes Swim – 15th September

One for the wild water swimmers and keep fit fanatics. So get ready to dive straight in at the Windermere Epic Lakes Swim. There’s still time to enter and you can choose between the 3 difference distances.

Taste Cumbria – 28th September

Another taste of traditional Cumbrian food and much more is available at Taste Cumbria in Cockermouth. Local suppliers, market traders, restaurants and some familiar faces all come together to get those taste buds watering.

The typical British weather is as unpredictable as ever, with this year being no different. Some of the hottest days on record have already peaked, with some downpours having soon followed. Then as we start to get the post-holiday blues, the Lake District weather in September 2019 is set for another heatwave.
