Great British Food Festival – 3rd and 4th July

Lowther Castle hosts this years’ Great British Food Festival, in its wonderful grounds showcasing the very best produce available. With guest chefs, regional cuisine and a range of market stands, cake competitions and a thriving real ale tent.

Summer Festival 2021 – 9th July

This year the popular festival makes it return to the Prestige Johnson Stadium. The two-day event in the Lake District includes live music and DJ’s playing tunes into the night. Names on the line-up include the Dales and the Thieving Magpies, as well as celebrity DJ’s Andrew Ellis & Thomas Turgoose from This is England!

Lakeland Trails – 10th July

The gruelling Lakeland Trails are just one way to take on the great outdoors in the Lake District. With a series of events for all ages and abilities, this is still no mean-feat. Ranging from 14k to an “Ultra” 100k trek around the likes of Lake Windermere, you’ll be longing for a soak in your hot tub by the end of the session.

Racing at Cartmel – 17th July

The prestigious Cartmel Racecourse is within easy reach of the Windermere Tranquil Retreat. In fact, a day at the races is always popular among our guests. Giving you the chance to gamble responsibly, but maybe take home enough winnings to come and visit us again next year!

Festival of Transport – 17th July

As is the case with many events over the past 12 months, the Festival of Transport was forced to postpone last year. However, the festival is back up and running in time to celebrate its impressive 174th anniversary.

Live Theatre, Music and Comedy – July 2021

Throughout July in Windermere there’s a whole host of live entertainment. Including shows for the youngsters at the World of Beatrix Potter or nights out watching talented local musicians at the local pubs and clubs. Alternatively, there’s comedian Jason Manford performing at nearby Kendal or the legendary Tom Jones live in Carlisle.
