Events in Windermere in April 2018

With Christmas events in the Lake District a distant memory, it’s time to start thinking about booking a weekend break this Spring. There are plenty of events in Windermere in April 2018, many of these feature around Easter weekend.

1st April – Easter Sunday

April 2018 kicks off with the bank holiday weekend. If you’ve already booked a Spa Hotel in the Lake District for Easter and looking for things to do on Easter Sunday in Windermere, then you won’t have far to go.

Anyone interested in attending an Easter Church service will be welcome at both St Mary’s Windermere or St Martin’s Church Windermere. Both of these are Catholic churches in Bowness, holding morning services.

Elsewhere the Lakeland Maze Farm Park near Kendal is only a 25 minute drive away. You can have a family day out in the Lake District and meet the farm animals. The children can enjoy both the indoor and outdoor play areas as well as take part in a fun Easter Egg hunt.

Any bank holiday weekend in the Lake District is likely to get crowded, but you can always escape the crowds at a Boutique Spa Hotel. Stay at the Windermere Tranquil Retreat and you will have a choice of cinema rooms, private hot tubs and Swedish Hot Rooms.

2nd April – Hug a Bunny in Bowness

It’s no surprise that there’s a lot going on at the World of Beatrix Potter Attraction in Windermere this Easter. The famous childhood author naturally has an association with the Easter Bunny, but even more so this year with the new Peter Rabbit movie due for release. Before the animated film starring James Corden hits the big screen, you can Hug a Bunny in Bowness and meet the legendary rabbit in person.

4th April – Where is Peter Rabbit?

The World of Beatrix Potter in Bowness-on-Windermere is a popular attraction in the Lake District all year round. Especially when it comes to events in Windermere this April. Wednesday 4th April 2018 sees the Lake District take on its biggest ever Easter egg hunt, with the annual Beatrix Potter treasure trail.

Not only is it fun for children of all ages, but there are great prizes to be won and furthermore it’s all in the name of charity.

7th and 14th April – Peter Rabbit Tea Party

If you missed out on hugging the bunny, then don’t worry you can always attend a Peter Rabbit Tea Party. Again taking place at the famous Windermere attraction, book now for an afternoon with Beatrix Potter and friends.

21st April – Windermere Record & CD Fair

With all the Easter excitement settled, it’s time to replace the impulse chocolate buying with records and CD’s. When you’ve found that album you’ve always wanted, lay back and relax in your hotel and give it a listen.

Booking a room at a Lake District Spa Hotel. If you are visiting events in Windermere in April 2018, why not check into the Windermere Tranquil Retreat for a spa suite with your own private hot tub?
