Throughout July – Where is Peter Rabbit?
During the summer of 2018 at the World of Beatrix Potter, is the attractions very own stage show, the Peter Rabbit musical. Book a ticket for an afternoon performance before looking around the rest of the exhibition. 21st July – Paint Seascapes in Acrylics
The independent art gallery of Thuline in Bowness-on-Windermere is opening its doors to aspiring artists in July. Bring your photographs of the sea ready to learn new skills or develop existing ones, as you put acrylics to canvas.
26th to 29th July – Kendal Calling
It’s easy to reach Kendal from Windermere by public transport. The trainline takes you along a scenic route or it’s only a 20 minute drive by car. Kendal Calling is the biggest music festival in the Lake District, with the 2018 line-up already announced.
Bands appearing this year include the Libertines, Run DMC, the Wailers and Basement Jaxx. There is of course camping available, but you’ll be in need of a room at Windermere Tranquil Retreat afterwards. 28th July – Windermere Summer Ball
It’s time to put on your evening dress or hire a tuxedo and polish your dancing shoes with the Windermere Summer Ball. The jazz band will be playing as guests sit down for dinner, complete with a champagne reception.
Following your 3 course meal, the traditional jazz music will be replaced by a 2nd live band. This time around performing a selection of pop music and classic hits. The night doesn’t end there either, for the DJ will continue the party late into the night.
It’s certainly one to get glammed up for, so why not go all out and check yourself into a boutique spa hotel. If you’re away for a romantic break in the Lake District, you can continue the champagne moments in your own hot tub.
Windermere Lake Cruises
Open all year round, Windermere Lake Cruises are of course not just for July. However, if the sun is shining and it’s a clear calm day, then there really is something special about being out on the water.
