Throughout June – Where is Peter Rabbit?
Child author Beatrix Potter is famous throughout the world, but it’s here in Windermere where Beatrix drew her inspiration. The World of Beatrix Potter is a museum and exhibition dedicated to her work. In the Sumer of 2018 the museum also launches its stage production of Peter Rabbit the musical.
2nd June – Olta, Live Music at Hawkshead Brewery
You may be on a detox during your stay at a Boutique Spa Hotel, but you can still let your hair down. The Hawkshead Brewery in Stavely, is just a short trip away from Windermere and have regular brewery tours available. Visit them on Saturday 2nd June and you will be treated to the music of Olta, a 3 piece folk band playing in the main bar.
3rd June – Marathon and Half Marathon
With our hotels located close to Lake Windermere, a lovely trip is to jump on a boat to Coniston. The first weekend in June plays hots to the Marathon and Half Marathon as part of the Lakeland Trails. If you are taking part, then make the most of the spa facilities at the Aphrodite’s Hotel and rooms that come with their own private hot tub.
8th to 10th June – Great North Swim
Over 1000 swimmers take part in Europe’s biggest open water event, the Great North Swim in Windermere. Hotels in the area fill up quickly for this weekend, especially Spa Suites and Boutique Hotels in Windermere offering on site sport massages.
16th June – Paint Sheep in Mixed Media
Taking a break from the more sporty activities in and around Windermere this June and giving visitors something different is the Thuline Studio Gallery. This art workshop gives participants the chance to paint sheep in a variety of media, regardless of your artistic ability.
24th June – Coniston Standard Triathlon
If however you really are looking to push yourself with an outdoor activity in the Lake District this June, there’s always the triathlon. Taking place in Coniston, it is also a great spectators event, set in a wonderful location.
