Halloween in the Lake District can be a spooky time of year. After all, with some of the most haunted places in Cumbria ready to come alive, there’s a ghost waiting around every corner.

Halloween at Muncaster Castle

Tuesday 23rd October 2018 to Sunday 28th October 2018. One such haunted house is Muncaster Castle in Ravenglass. The week-long celebration of Halloween in the Lake District is set to feature a whole host of events. From fire-breathing circus acts to drum workshops, it’s not all about ghosts and ghouls. Although, that said, beware if you step inside the maze after dark.

The Halloween Experience at Brockhole

Saturday 20th October 2018 to Tuesday 23rd October. Children and adults alike may believe that the number 13 is unlucky, but at Brockhole in Windermere, it could be quite the opposite. That is if you’re taking a spa break in Windermere but out with little ones during the day.

Holker Hall

Wednesday 31st October 2018. Just like Muncaster Castle, the chances are Wray Castle in Ambleside is haunted all year round. Although on Halloween in the Lake District, you can expect folklore and tales of yesteryear to help bring the ghosts to life. Performances take place throughout the day, costing just £2 per person. Although you will need to still pay for the initial castle entrance fees.
